Affiliations

In addition to serving as its President and as a Director, Mr. Kirk is a founding member of the Indiana Structural Engineers Association (ISEA). Mr. Kirk is a founding corporate member of the Great Lakes Chapter for the Association for Preservation Technology (APT), and a member of the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). He also was a founding member on the Advisory Board for the Bowen Structures Testing Laboratory - Lyles School of Civil Engineering at Purdue University, serving as its Secretary until stepping aside in 2026.

Bio

Since its inception Jim continues to build and lead the team at Enspect into the most trusted name in Northwest Indiana and the Chicagoland areas.

After a brief time with Skidmore, Owings and Merrill in Chicago, Mr. Kirk led several design and rehabilitation projects while with the structural engineering firm Tylk Gustafson and Associates (now TGRWA) in Chicago, IL., until eventually forming Enspect.

Mr. Kirk has continued work in many sectors of design including industrial, education, health care, commercial and preservation.
